Rome is called "la Cittą Eterna" (the Eternal City), and has a history extending nearly 2,800 years. Rome has been the seat of ancient Rome (the Roman Kingdom, Roman Republic, Roman Empire), and later the Papal States, Kingdom of Italy and Italian Republic, and evidence of its rich history is found throughout the city. Rome is home to the Roman Forum, the Vatican, the Pantheon, and countless other churches and monuments, and evidence of Rome's vast history surrounds the visitor.

The Lorenzo de'Medici school of Rome is situated close to the Piazza Barberini on via XX Septembre, with easy metro access to historic sites of Rome. The facility is located in a newly restored building in the center of the city, and the school offers students opportunities to participate in the culture of the city. Courses take advantage of the wealth of art and history available in Rome, and many courses are taught both in the classroom and outside, with seminars and excursions througout the city.
