Opera, Lied and Vocal Techniques |
There is no an examination at the beginning of the course. The basic requirements include adequate mastery of the instrument or the voice, and recommendation of a school or a teacher.
These courses aim at strengthening the artists technical competence. They are designed for students who wish to upgrade their training program by getting into contact with outstanding artists and to obtain a professional opinion on their current artistic standard. The courses primarily serve to prepare for entrance examinations to high ranking music schools and to the master classes of the Wiener Meisterkurse.
While students enroll for one course, they may attend (as an auditor) the Master Classes being held at the same time.

Students may be active participants or auditors. On the first day of the course, individuals who wish active status have an audition, and the instructor of the master class decides who will be the active participants. (The European Heritage Institute can arrange for a preliminary assessment of an applicants level.)
Twenty lessons are given each week. The auditor group will receive an additional 4 hours of lecture time per course.
While students enroll for one course, they may attend (as an auditor) all other courses being held at the same time.
Classes are taught in English and other languages. Participants are from many countries, and questions and discussions related to an individuals performance may occur in different languages.
